Laure Keatts Ray is a Certified USA-Triathlon Level I Coach who has been swimming since age 8 and coaching since age 15. She has a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science with Minors in Chemistry and Psychology from Coastal Carolina University. At University she studied the oceans, estuaries, salt marshes, bays and rivers extensively. which gave her knowledge and experience that she uses every day coaching triathletes and open water swimmers. After graduation and a move to eastern VA, Laure returned to the pool becoming a USA Swimming and YMCA Swimming Certified Head Coach of a large age group swim team. Coach Laure’s triathlon racing career started in 2007 and became an active member of the Richmond Triathlon Club serving as the New Member Orientation Coordinator, a member of the Boardod Directors. in 2012. She has trained for and raced every distance of the sport with her favorite being the Olympic distance (longest swim:run ratio!). Coach Laure is passionate about introducing the sport to individuals who never thought that they could “tri” and specializes in helping athletes make possible what they deemed impossible. With Peluso Open Water Laure has had the honor of coaching athletes of all levels and is especially proud of the athletes who came to her barely able to complete 25 meters who went on to finish every distance of triathlon.
