Margaret Rechel, an American Swimming Coaching Association Level 2 Coach, has been a competitive swimmer since birth. Being the youngest child of three, and having very athletic swimming siblings, she was raised at swimming pools in Columbus, Ohio and quickly grew a passion for swimming while setting multiple country club league records for 8 and under age groups. After captaining her high school team, she swam all four years as a Knight for Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was a major force as a freestyler in continuing the women’s team streak of 10 consecutive conference championships.
Margaret trains regularly in the water herself, using the time to also develop creative techniques to overcome certain obstacles of the athletes she loves to coach. Margaret takes great pride in enabling her swimmers to become ‘one with the water,’ improve technique, drop times, and most importantly, enjoy swimming.
Margaret's multisport highlights include her 2015 Number 1 Nationally Ranked Aquabike status, 1st place (25-29) in the 2016 Kinetic Sprint, sub 6 hour time for first ever half ironman at Eagelman 2016, Record holder for four LMSC records in the women’s 18-24 category, in the 50m, 200, 400m, & 800m Freestyle.
